Can celebrities help save the world?

Whether it’s rock star Bono or Hollywood actors such as George Clooney, Angelina Jolie and Natalie Portman, more celebrities are using their fame to try to coax the powerful to do more to improve the world. They clearly make a difference, such as raising money for causes and getting the ear of lawmakers, but the ultimate impact of the well-meaning superstars remains uncertain.
